On Friday, the Beavers went on an exciting adventure by going to the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester on the Train!
However, despite the Leaders best plans, the train they’d booked to travel on was cancelled due to the effects of Storm Doris the previous day. After rejigging the plans a bit, the Beavers left Stoke a bit later than planned but were on their way!
On arrival at Manchester, the Beavers caught (and filled!) the shuttle bus to the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI). At MOSI they looked around the interactive displays and learned about the impact Manchester has had in the world due to its scientific research and its industry .
Following lunch, the Beavers visited the power hall where they saw various stationary engines that used to power industry and some retired railway locomotives. There was a dressing up area where the Beavers could wear various Victorian costumes!
By now it was time for the inevitable shop visit and to journey back to the railway station. Instead of catching the bus, the Beavers walked back.
Back at the station the Beavers boarded their train and took up their reserved seats and were back at Stoke on time for their Mums and Dads to collect them.
