Ontario The Beaver’s 25th Birthday Party
We have had a party for our Beaver Mascot, Ontario, who was born in Bradwell on the 18th October 1982 and is probably the oldest in Britain. When Bradwell Colony closed a couple of years ago, their Mascot made a short journey to Porthill, where he has been loved and cared for ever since.
Soon he will be going to have a health check and might need minor surgery to some split seams and an ear problem. He will also see the Dentist about his teeth.
Happy 25th Birthday Ontario!

5 New Scouts Invested
Tonight we invested and welcomed five new Scouts into the Troop. All but one had joined us from the Cub Pack and some of them have already competed in the archery competition and done the indoor climbing. They are the first Scouts to be invested with our new flag, the first of many! We have 4 more Scouts to be invested in the next couple of weeks as well!
Welcome to you all!
Indoor Climbing at Goldenhill
A handful of the Scouts spent the evening using the new climbing wall at Goldenhill’s Scout Hut. They’ve just spent a lot of money restoring their Scout Hut and one addition they’ve had is an indoor climbing wall.
We went with some of the Scouts from the Audley Troop, who’s Leader was acting as instructor for the evening.
Everyone had a chance to boulder, climb and belay.

Martial Arts Evening
The Scouts had a martial arts evening last night. They learned some of the beginner Jujitsu moves and were shown some of the more complicated ones. After the demonstrations and practical sessions, one of the Scouts demonstrated some of his Kung Fu moves to obtain his martial arts badge.
