District Archery Competition
The Scouts took part in the District’s archery competition today. They all did very well and they came 4th out of 6 Troops. This is an improvement on last year as they were in last place then!
One of the Scouts came first in the individual reserve shooters competition and Nick came second in the Leaders competition! Many congratulations! The day was rounded off by having a flyby from two Spitfires!
Well done to all who took part.
More photos are in the Gallery.
Beaver’s and Cub’s Sponsored Walk
Back in June, the Beavers and Cubs did a sponsored walk around Westport Lake to raise money for the PDSA (see here).
All the money is finally in and counted and we’re pleased to announce that they raised a whopping £485.64 for the charity!
Well done to all who took part.
Creative Challenge Badge
In the summer the Cubs wrote and starred in their own video for the Creative Challenge badge. They did it in the style of a news programme.
Well done to all the stars of the video.
Many thanks to Rich for the filming and editing.
Scout’s Backwoods Camp at Consall
The Scouts have come back from a weekends camping at Consall with 12th Golden Hill Scouts.
On the Friday night they made their own shelters by using groundsheets and canvas.
On the Saturday after starting their fires and cooking breakfast they made new shelters, but this time from branches, ferns and a bit of string. A couple of the Scouts found something interesting in the trees – take a look at the video!
The photos are in the Gallery.
In the Army
We are proud to hear that another of our ex Scouts, Lee Hammond, has recently joined the army.
Lee joins two of our other ex Scouts, Tom Lawton & Jason Peach serving in HM Forces.
