Over the last weekend, our Cubs held our annual camp with our friends from 99th Berry Hill Cubs at Barnswood.

As usual on the Friday evening, it was the usual chaos of arriving, unpacking, the Cubs from the different Packs meeting each other, opening the camp, walking round the camp site, having a wide game, supper and finally bed! Some of the Cubs slept better than others!

Map Reader BadgeOn Saturday after breakfast, a new Cub was invested and welcomed into the Pack and then the Cubs started work on their Map Reader badge. They split up into bases to cover all the parts of the badge in sections.

This map work continued after lunch. As well as map reading, the Cubs showed that they are interested in looking after the environment by planting 7 new trees at Barnswood, along with 60 daffodil bulbs.

After tea, we had our traditional campfire, with some guests. The Beavers from the 3rd Macclesfield Group joined us for this and our traditional firework display. Afterwards, they very kindly invited us all back for hot dogs and hot chocolate.

After a better night’s sleep, it was breakfast and then Scout’s Own followed by finishing off the Map Reader badge. By then, it was time for lunch, to tidy up and go home!

All the Cubs had a great time and went home rather tired!

A big thanks to all the Leaders, Young Leaders and parents who came out to help.
