Yesterday, the Group took part in Newcastle District’s St. George’s Day parade in Newcastle. Despite the awful rainy weather, many of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts turned up to celebrate St. George, the Cub’s 100th birthday, the Beaver’s 30th birthday and to renew their Promise.

The Beavers and Cubs had made banners for their birthday celebrations and two of the Cubs even wore 1960s and 1970s/80s Cub uniforms (we thought it would have been unfair to make them wear shorts and the sock garters in view of the weather!).

Despite the cold and rain, the Drums, who were led by their new Drum Major Joe, played brilliantly!

While in St. Giles Church, Group Executive member Helen was awarded a 5 Year Service Award by the Mayor.
