On the 24th September 2016, the Cubs and the Leaders camped at Chester Zoo. This was a County camp to celebrate 100 years of Cubs.
Once the tents were up and all the Cubs had arrived we had a full day exploring the zoo. The Cubs were given a day bag and inside it there was an activity sheet, for them to complete. All the Cubs have completed this and they will get their Animal Carer badge and the Naturalist badge.
When we got to the Penguin enclosure, we invested a new member into Cubs. Congratulations in becoming a member of 1st Porthill Scout Group!
At 6.30pm everybody gathered at the fountain lawns for the opening ceremony. We sang various songs and played musical statues, with the lions roaring in the background!
After supper we all went and watched a magician, then we listened to a story teller. After this we all went to bed.
On the Sunday morning we packed our things, and we had another day looking round Chester Zoo.
We all had an amazing time camping at Chester Zoo with over 1100 Cubs there.
