District Scout Night Hike

On Saturday 18th March our Scouts joined Scouts from around the District at the Guide campsite at Maer for a night hike.

Once their tents etc were set up, the Scouts had to learn how to use 6 figure grid references, how to use a compass and walk on a bearing and how to locate their position on a map.
After this they had a map symbols challenge.

After tea, the Scouts were taken to Swynnerton, the starting point for the hike and the hike route was around 5.5 miles long.

After navigating their way back to the campsite, it was time for bed!

The following morning, breakfast was eaten, tents were packed away and it was time for home.

Everyone had a great time.
